White cakey/gunk on my head when i scratch?

my head will be itchy and when i scratch this white gunk/cakey stuff gets under my nails and its gross. its not dandruff cuz its not flakey and doest show when i dont scratch my head and sometimes red will get in the white and it might be blood but mabye not, i dont know.
