Why wasn't Kobe, MJ, or Kevin Durant drafted 1st overall?

It's just how it is with any draft. Nobody is truly a psychic, or else they would have picked MJ, Kobe, or Durant first overall. Many teams overlook young raw talent by also picking to what a team needs. IE.... teams needing a center vs a guard, overlooked MJ and eyeballed the best overall big man and perhaps one of the biggest busts in NBA history (Note Sam Bowie). As I stare at my fantasy football draft results, I'm wondering the same thing.... why didn't I draft X player and chose Y player instead. The reason being --- I'm not a psychic.
