Gay question. I like this guy that works at my moms restaurant..?

And he is really cute to me, he's not exactly skinny, and most people wouldn't find him too attractive I guess, but I guess I do. I first saw him back in February he seemed really intimidating at first, very deep voice, had a shaved head, and most importantly was strangely attractive to me. So after I broke up with my ex, I guess I have been crushing on this guy since June. Each time I come in he always says hi, and i have even came in and brought my mom coffee, he followed me to her office and asked how I was doing I thought it was kinda cute. Long story short, is i'm getting mixed signals from this guy, he seems to be too butch to be gay, but he actually really is one of my moms nicest employes. he is a server for my mom *who is a manager at dennys*, and i want to find out if he's gay but I can't really ask myself im too scared to. any suggestions?
