What a pneumo coccus is?

Pneumococcus is a sort of very common bacteria that causes lots of things like pneumonia, ear infections, and meningitis. It is most definitely not safe when you get a pneumococcal disease. By shot, I ume you mean vaccination, which is an active immunity agent used to prevent infection by the bacteria. The vaccine is generally considered to be safe and effective with minor side effects. It is sort of a medicine though, which means it does have effects on your body. The most common are as with most shots: swelling, soreness, redness, lump at injection site. Some of the less common are: aches and pains, rash, tiredness/weakness. If you are experiencing difficulty breathing along with phlegm, you should seek medical attention ASAP. You could be having an allergic reaction to the vaccine.
