Quick question bout the Yasmin pill?

i just finished the course yestrday evening and was told that if i continue with the next pack straight away i wont get a period. so i was planning on continuing with the next packet this evening. how do u go about it? do you take the whole pkt then stop for 7 days as normal? am i bein less protected this way?
