Why do these eye test results mean?

You have next to no prescription. The sphere is the amount that you are farsighted, which is the next unit up from having no prescription. The cylinder is your correction for astigmatism, also the next unit up from having no prescription. Astigmatism is a fancy word that means your eye is shaped more like a football than a spherical basketball. The axis is the angle at which light needs to enter your eye in order to be in focus. Think of a protractor - 180 degrees is completely horizontal. (90 degrees is completely vertical). The sphere is (+) & the cylinder is (-) so they pretty much cancel each other out.
