Why can't all the rap haters comprehend that rap is just another form of self-expression?

What makes rap negatively different than any other form of expressing oneself? Granted, there are a lot of rappers who glorify things that shouldn't be (drugs, abusing women, etc.) but doesn't that have more to do with the individual artist than the form itself?
